Combat Phase
Trading card games are at their best when the focus is on fun, community, and actually playing. But too often, hyped products get scooped up by resellers, leaving real players priced out. That’s just not how we roll. At Spindown, we put players first and make sure cards land in the hands of people who actually want to play them.
How We Keep Cards Accessible
We’ve put a few safeguards in place to keep things fair:
Order Limits
No one needs 20 playsets. That’s why we cap certain items and cancel excessive orders. More players get what they need, fewer resellers profit.
Removing Shrink Wrap
For hot sealed products (like Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond Collector Booster Boxes), we’ll strip off the shrink wrap. The cards are still 100% playable, but flipping for profit becomes a lot less appealing.
Spindown Stickering
Some sealed releases get a Spindown mark, sticker, or tape. It’s a small step that helps keep products in the community and helps us spot any tampering since leaving our secret lair.
Why We Do It
These steps aren’t about making things harder, they’re about keeping things fair. By protecting products from scalpers, we make sure players can actually play, trade, and enjoy the games we all love.
Local game stores have a responsibility to their community, and we take that seriously. At Spindown, we’ll always push to get cards into players’ hands, because we wouldn’t be here without you.
